Developer’s jitters. Who could blame those sitting on a block of land, trying to muster the courage to develop it in today’s economic climate?
But according to Adam Jupp from Rapid Tilt, it’s actually the perfect time to build.
“If you’re building for your own purposes, the time to do it is before the next boom,” Adam says. “Builders are quiet so prices are more competitive, and completion times are more expedient. If you have the land already or plan to stay in the premises there is still money to be made.”
When Emil Pucchini decided to develop a five-unit site, he engaged the services of Rapid Tilt. After retirement left him twiddling his thumbs, Emil started buying and selling property, but soon realised the margin for the developer was very fruitful. “I thought ‘why should I buy something that someone has already made a lot of profit out of? Why can’t I do that?’ ,” he says.
Emil was so happy with the first project that he went back to Rapid Tilt again for two more projects. He was impressed with Rapid Tilt’s speedy tilt-up construction method, a fast, effective, low risk method popular with other commercial developers.
“Tilt-up construction techniques are far superior to traditional masonry methods, offering unparalleled resilience, strength and a speed of completion that will simply astound you. It enables commercial developers to build faster and far more cost effectively. It’s low maintenance, fire resistant and easily repaired. ,” Adam says.
What also made Emil happy was Adam’s promise to be the first and only point of contact for all his clients, from the initial engagement to the handing over the keys. It’s a promise born from his frustration at the non- response he has received when dealing with other companies in the past.
“Who wants to deal with people who keep making excuses and don’t return phone calls? It makes all the difference to deal with people one-to-one,” Emil says.
“With Adam, if I ring, he answers the phone. If I leave a message, he rings me back. For me, that type of involvement is very important. If I want to discuss something, I want to do it now; not next week or the week after, because when there are delays, the whole thing ends up costing a lot more and everything gets out of place.”
